The primary focus of site preparation burn is to reduce brush and logging debris to allow for more effective and efficient seedling establishment in the reforestation process.
Ecological burning includes a wide range of species-specific burn implementation. Specific site conditions, weather and timing are of utmost importance when executing an ecological burn.
Below is a list of examples of ecological burns.
Hazard Reduction burning is the most common burning practice carried out in the southeast United States. By nature, all prescribed burning is hazard reduction burning. The primary objective of hazard reduction burning is to reduce burnable fuel loading in a wooded area most commonly in a pine plantation. These burns help reduce the likelihood and severity of wildfires which protects your property as well as adjacent landowners.
These burns help reduce competition from various brushy species as well as woody invasive species. Eliminating competition allows for maximized and unimpeded growth of your pine plantation. This allows for faster revenue return on your pine plantation investment.
Pile Burning is primarily used for site preparation services however any piled vegetation can be burned for the purposes of land clearing, home site establishment, etc. Proper smoke management is of utmost importance when burning piled debris and should be conducted by a state certified pile prescribed burn expert.
Fire breaks are necessary for safely conducting prescribed fire practices. We have various pieces of equipment for firebreak establishment and refreshing such as bulldozers for blading or plowing, as well as disc harrows and hand tools for areas that are inaccessible to large equipment.
